Ready? Set? Vesperize!
And so it begins... Hope College's annual Christmas music services/extravaganza kicks off today and the Major General Music is in the thick of it all. Here's a look at what to expect.

This is the Chapel Choir performing in the DeVos Center and in Dimnent Chapel. This my choir and we will be performing the most of the ensembles represented in the service. By the way, our conductor's name is Dr. Brad Richmond and he rocks!

These folks are the College Chorus singing last year at Vespers. If you look closely, you will see me standing on the right-hand edge of the rug. Dr. Richmond conducts this group, too.

This mighty orchestra is called the Symphonette. There weren't any decent pictures of the whole group at Vespers, so I had to use this one from the DeVos Showcase. They are conducted by Prof. Richard Piippo, who is busily waving his baton in this picture.

These two extraordinary musicians are Sean Daenzer and Abbie Rockwood, who will both be playing the organ at Vespers this year. Sean sings in the Chapel Choir and is my studio accompanist for voice this year. Abbie was the organ accompanist last year at Vespers.

Also appearing will be the Flute Choir and the Brass Ensemble, who also performed last year at Vespers. Our new Dean of the Chapel, Trygve Johnson (in the picture with his dog Whidbey) will be the minister for the service. It is looking to be a good one, so let's get ready, set, and Vesperize! (And Angela, I hope you're happy! You get a song AND an update... sheesh)
