Do you think the media puts too much focus on physical beauty?

Definitely. Unfortunately, it goes beyond the media and permeates into society as a whole. We are attracted to people who are physically attractive and, generally speaking, prejudiced in favor of those who are.

I Peter 3:3-4
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

Yes, we're really missing the target on this one. I shudder to think what the consequences might be.
