Bored before Thanksgiving break
I have some time before leaving for Thanksgiving Break, and Ashley's Facebook is a gold mine for these silly surveys. Here we go again!
-What was the worst name people called you in school?
Hmm, I was called plenty of mean stuff, but one of the worst was "flamboyant." By that, all my classmates thought they were targeting my sexuality.
-What is your religion or personal beliefs?
I believe in a triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe in the Father as my Creator, I accept the Son as my Savior, and the Holy Spirit to come dwell within me. That's no religion, but it sure is a great relationship.
-Do you think you are confident?
In some cases; teaching is an arena where I could use some more self-assurance.
-What is your goal this year?
To cultivate my relationship with Christ more and grow in maturity as a vocal musician. It's always so hard to tell with the first one, but I hope I'm getting somewhere with that one; I'm trying. As for the second one, my voice is starting to feel more flexible!
-Describe the person of your dreams.
She's beautiful, she's married to me, and she puts me second. She always is seeking Christ before me.
-Have you ever had an unhealthy obsession? If so, what?
Wanting to be exactly like my peers, even if they're truly good, admirable people.
-Have you ever seen a therapist?
No. Maybe that's my problem?
-How many medications do you take per day?
Two, hopefully back down to one soon enough. This two medicine business is getting irritating.
-How do you sleep?
In a bed, with my eyes closed.
-What was the last thing you dreamed and remember?
Something where a bit of Hope College and a bit of Ludington HS were somehow squished together and in Ludington... thank goodness that's not real
-What is your talent?
Likely singing in that whistly tenor range and playing some piano
*Do you ever think about an ex?
What ex?
-Are you superstitious?
No
-What is your feelings about marriage?
Be certain about whom you are marrying. "In sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live." Don't ever take those vows lightly-they're in front of people and God. Taken seriously, it's a beautiful thing and a great symbol of the relationship between God and the Church.
-What was the last thing you ate?
An early Thanksgiving feast with my friends at Jeannette's home!!!!
-What turns you on?
Loving Jesus is a must, but I really like a pretty smile, too
-How do you look for someone to date?
I think Jon's advice is becoming the best. I've wanted a relationship for a while and it hasn't worked. To stop looking for one may just be a better idea.
-Do you believe in fate?
It's not fate-it's what God has known all along slowly being made known to us
-How did your parents meet?
You know, I honestly can't remember
-Have you ever taken an inkblot test?
A Rorschach? Nope
-They say everyone has a muse. Who is yours?
Couldn't say.
-Last thing you drank.
Water.
*Do you have strong values?
Yup.
*How tall are you?
5'9"
-What animal are you?
I'm not, I'm a human. If I could be an animal, I'd be a tiger.
-What fruit is your favorite?
Watermelon
-When did you first start using the Internet?
Fifth grade
-What does your screen name or email address stand for or mean?
captain_peacock refers to Captain Stephen Peacock, the floorwalker on the old British sitcom, Are You Being Served? Glamdring is the sword Gandalf carried in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. And Major_General_Music is because I'm a music major, but Major_Music is a little obvious. I thought making myself a Major General would make it just a little spicier.
-What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Oh boy, Moosetracks from House of Flavors!
-Who was the last person you text messaged?
ROSS REYNOLDS!!!!
-What is the last picture you took on your cellphone of?
Let's look... HA! It's ROSS REYNOLDS!!!! holding the wristpad from the computer in the music office in front of his face like a massively long tongue. Bleagh, it's blue.
-Do you have any scars?
Yup. I have a nice long one on my knee where they sliced it open and put pins in and I have another right over my eyebrow when I ran into a truck bumper when I was 3. And I have cat scratches too.
-Do you consider yourself a lucky person?
There is no luck. I have been blessed, but I'm not lucky.
-What is in the back of your mind right now?
I get to go home!!!!
-What is your IQ?
Who knows... Tickle.com said I have an IQ of 135, which is an outrageous lie. My IQ is MUCH higher than that.
There's no way that I could have an IQ that high, but I don't believe IQ measures too much, anyway. In my mind, intelligence is specific to various types of thinking (think Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences).
-Are your nails long or short?
Clipped
-What noise do you hear right now?
Jeremy Camp singing right in my ears and the slight clicking of Zach on his computer
-What room are you in?
My apartment bedroom
-Do you have a crush or desire someone right now?
Yeah
-Are you single?
Indeed
-Are you diagnosed with any disorders?
I really don't know anymore
-What was the last time you were in Wal-Mart?
Last Saturday
-What was the last thing you bought?
Gasoline
-What is on your Christmas list so far?
Hmm, definitely Benjamin Britten's War Requiem, G.F. Handel's Messiah (gotta find a good version to ask for), Jeremy Camp: Live-Unplugged (I love CDs!)
-What are you craving?
This will sound really sketch, but a good leg massage. My legs are STILL sore from contra dancing on Friday and I'm still feeling the effects when I walk up and down staircases. Gosh, I'm old.
-What cereal do you eat?
Rice Krispies. Loved 'em since I was a small kid.
-Name a prank you did once on someone.
I was in my now-infamous black hole Halloween costume on the night before Halloween. It was late, so Jon Weppler let me into Phelps. We walked to the corner suite and then I asked him to bait ROSS REYNOLDS!!!! out of his room. He was more than glad to and then ran down the hall. Ross slowly came out of his room, a bit confused, and then I jumped him, in my all black outfit and covered with black stage makeup. I thought my friend was going to have a heart attack.
-Last thing you laughed at?
Dan Buck and I had another big laugh at, "King of the who?" during the Thanksgiving feast at Jeannette's place.
-Are you a sensitive person?
Yes.
-Are you close to your family? If so, which family member do you believe you are closest to?
Yeah, I'm pretty close to them. I'm probably closest to Jordan. Aww... okay, stop that.
-Do you intoxicate yourself because you feel overwhelmed by your emotions or troubled by your issues?
When I'm overwhelmed, intoxication sounds about like the last thing I'd want. I ask those I love for prayer and I get on my knees myself.
-What is the most romantic thing that has ever happened to you?
Asking the single guy...?
