Ready, Children? Let's sing! (By the way, I'm Mr. Racey)

My field placement began today. It was quite an interesting experience, although I didn't get to do a lot of stuff. Oh well.

The experience began adventurously with the Major General Music being dropped off at Van Raalte 4-5 Focus School by the Kind Transportation Office Driver No. 1 only to discover he was supposed to be at Jefferson 2-3 Focus School instead. So after walking close to ten blocks down Van Raalte Ave. (what a coincidence!), he reaches the second school, gets the cute little "I'm-a-visitor-so-watch-me-closely" tag, and finds the music room and prepares for the little children. Thankfully, the Wonderful Advising Teacher was gentle with the Major General Music and kept it simple-introduction, what do you do with music, why are you here, where are you from, etc.

Then the Major General Music had the more-mundane task of helping the Wonderful Advising Teacher draw up seating charts for the classes. Overall, not the most exciting first field placement experience, but it has made the Major General Music more comfortable being in a classroom and a little more confident that he wants to continue pursuing his vocal music education degree. Whee!

It will get more exciting soon... you;ll see.

And how does Becky know this? To my knowledge you haven't spent too much time in an authoritative position in a classroom. Okay Mr. Dude, so now you're going to be Mr. TeacherDude.

On Wednesday I am called a variety of names such as Teacher-Lady or Craft-Lady or even the lengthy version of Craft-Teacher-Lady. It is just weird. But now you can have similar names (simply omit the Lady part of course). Glad you're happy with you current goal and direction-(next time double check the location and get better directions-what's worse is that you weren't even driving).
