There's Kitten on My Face!

Okay, so it turns out the stray cat is NOT part blue-point Siamese like I had originally thought. She's a slate-gray domestic shorthair, which basically means she's a something-yet-no-breed-in-particular cat who looks like Daisy May sans the white.

And, she's not pregnant with kittens, although she was recently, according to Dr. Paxton.

So it comes down to this: we have ANOTHER furry member of the family. All she needs is a few shots to keep her all nice and healthy, a nice surgery to make sure she never has kittens again and at that same time also make sure she doesn't put our furniture through her little paper shredder claws, and a name! My readers, what would YOU name a little slate-gray cat with a tail ringed like a lemur's, gold eyes, and an affectionate personality?

"...I tell you, a cat needs a name, that's particular, A name that's peculiar, and more dignified, else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular..." ~T.S. Eliot~

Hmmm... Actually I've only had to think of male names-we've never had a female kitty in our house-well not as a long term resident. I think you need to meet this cat before you can name it. I had a magazine that listed some of the strangest-funniest cat names in it. A couple of them were Octo-puss and Dances-With-Plants. I can't remember the rest but they were funny and I think I saved the list at home.
I've always like Sadie for a cat name. Or you could choose some kind of musical reference like Harmony but I don't think that'd be as fun. Names like Soup don't just happen ya know!

I'm not sure that I'd be creative enough to give my cat a name of a food like you did with Soup. Dances-With-Plants is quite funny, though. We can't use Sadie, unfortunately-that name was taken by my New Jersey family who had to care for a basset hound for a short time. A musical reference is an idea, but since the cat will be primarily cared for my parents, I'll need to save the musical reference for my own cats. I could name one "Treble" and the other "Clef," "Quarter" and "Note," you get the picture. ORRRRR I could get silly and give them British note names. The name "Breve" sounds quite smart, does it not?
