"I've got your back"
It's sort of weird to call someone, expect the person to not answer and leave a voicemail, and then you get surprised by an answer. That happened with Nate tonight.
It was cool, though. Setting a few things in stone was really nice to get taken care of and catching up is always good. The best part possibly was when he asked what to pray over. I mentioned how the whole painting the house has been a TON of work and how renegotiating pay is not something I'm looking forward to but is inevitable.
Nate: I've got your back, don't worry.
Me: Thanks bro, I appreciate that.
Nate: Carry a conch shell with you to work tomorrow. If you get in trouble, blow the conch shell.
Me: -Roaring laughter-
Nate: Once you sound the conch shell, I'll be there in two minutes. Nik Burkhart and Ross Reynolds will show up, too, and we'll back you up.
Me: Well, with a team like that, let's throw BSmitty into the mix and explode the room with awesomeness.
I totally didn't expect an Anchorman joke to surface in the conversation, but I'm a total sucker for those. And it would be pretty sweet to be able to sound a conch shell, yell something similar to the title character's cry of "News team, ASSEMBLE!" and have four of your friends appear. A bit inconveniencing for them, but still sweet.
I'm Ron Burgundy...?
