If you could have only one super-power, what would it be... and how would you use it?
The featured question asked a question I wrote about quite a while ago. Thus, I resurrect the entry from March 22, 2005.I AM Super! You don't agree?! Fine... *ZAP!!!!!*
Amidst cries of "You've neglected your blog" from the Angela on my list posting, here is another entry, this one about super powers. I refuse for the Becky to label me a "neglectful blog owner."
Last night, the Angela asked me, "If you had a super power, what would it be?" She added later that I couldn't pick something cliché like the ability to fly or she threatened me with the following: "I will zap you." With that threat, I was inspired by a desire I used to have years ago when I basically resented the entire world, unfortunately.
I would personally LOVE the ability to zap people at will. Yes, you think it would be fun too and don't deny it. It would be absolutely delightful to have the ability to zap people with a painful shock of electricity that looks like a lightning bolt flying from my hand. It of course would not kill my selected victim although I suppose it could happen if I was enraged enough. But it would be just cool if I zapped a bunch of people at once-just think of all the lightning bolts spreading from my fingers at my targets at once!
Being able to zap people has its benefits, too. I could always jump-start my car if the battery dies with a nice zap and away I go while everyone else still is looking for their MIA jumper cables in their car trunks. And I wouldn't need to worry during a thunderstorm or other electically-volatile weather disturbance. I could keep swinging away on the golf course while everyone else runs for their lives except for the fact that I don't like getting wet when I don't want to. Plus getting hit by lightning bolts would make me happily glow for a while and you could see lightning come from my mouth while I'm singing or from my hands and feet while playing the piano! Beethoven and Bach become truly electrifying experiences!
So there, I'd love to zap people if I so felt like it. But I can't, so I'm still stuck singing like everyone else, still stuck playing piano like everyone else, still stuck jump-starting my car like everyone else, and still stuck running for my life from the golf course in a thunderstorm. Well, if I played golf...
