SPLASH!
Wow, I had forgotten how much fun (and exhausting) water parks are.
It seems the cousins wanted to go to a water park, so I made the suggestion to go to Michigan's Adventure since it has one of the best water parks in the area, supposedly one that even rivals Cedar Point's.
So we went, and man, oh man, was it an experience. Probably the best, most tense, scariest, and just all-around craziest ride I went on (and ever seen) was the Funnel of Fear, or as we called it, "the giant toilet." A four-person tube (we rode in two trios) + dark tunnel + going backwards + steep drop + sliding back and forth in a very large funnel like a halfpipe and finally being flushed out = a bit of fear, a whole lot of screaming, and all of us yelling "WOOHOO!" It wasn't quite so much fun getting crunched between two tubes in the wave pool or almost falling out of the tube with Jordan, but the last ride with him and Allison was a lot of fun, and it made me laugh when Reid and I decided that the offset waves in the one wave pool made it a "fatty splasher."
My stomach and face look the color of a fresh-boiled lobster, I still smell of chlorine after a nice shower, I have two scrapes on my knees from the concrete, and it's wonderful. I felt like a kid again today, getting to be all giddy with my cousins and collapse into bed, exhausted, after a long day of essentially playing outside in the water.
