Today = Whirlwind

It's official-I think the Department of Education here at Hope College has buried its head in the sand. Yet again I've dealt with a professor who has more or less behaved on the first day of class (Secondary Block this time) that this class alone shall determine if I will be a good teacher, a good or bad human being, and that my entire survival and worth depends on it. Get real, people. Maybe that's why I only take this department only half-seriously.

I'm looking forward to Music Lit. Last semester was very interesting and I REALLY liked looking at music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and the Baroque Period. But this semester will be cool too-there's something infinitely fascinating to me about music history from the Age of Enlightenment to today. The little tweaks that Dr. Randel made sound like they'll make the course better. Unlike Secondary Block, I already have a very sunny outlook on this class. Science & Tech looks to be a blast, too. Although slipping on the ice (there's not much outside, so this was a real trick) wasn't so fun, the British guys on the film "The Secret Life of the Internal Combustion Engine" reminded me a lot of Mythbusters. I'm really excited. Plus Dr. Krupczak seems really cool.

So I attended my first Hope College basketball game tonight, and I'm already a junior. Yikes. Oh well, they won, and I enjoyed watching the action in the DeVos Fieldhouse. It really is a sweet arena. Hanging (unexpectedly) with Ben & Goetz up in the stands for awhile was a nice surprise, too. I've missed my graduated friends.

Mom and Dad's box for me arrived today. Now my bed's a little comfier, my bookcase is a little more full, and my CD collection is now completely here. Yay!

Krup is the absolute man. That guy is great. You will not be disappointed with that class in any way. I Promise.
