"Give me the tour, Tyler!"
Ben came to visit today. Although he'd been to Ludington a couple times before, it was one of those visits which demands a proper tour around the area. It was kind of fun playing tour guide, but I rediscovered myself why I and so many tourists love my home.
-Church. We took a look through Cornerstone's facility, and I realized after gauging Ben's response how blessed we are with our church home. I think I need to talk to our pastors about that.
-House of Flavors. As Mom and I agreed on earlier, "If you can have only one meal experience in Ludington, House of Flavors is the place." And come on, they make wonderful ice cream!
-State Park. It's my favorite place in Ludington. I hadn't been out to the Big Sable Lighthouse in years and had never climbed it to the top. Not only was today a perfect day to take a walk along the Lighthouse Trail, we had a lovely view of the lake and surrounding dunes/woods from the lighthouse. And then there's the Island/Lost Lake Trails. I told Ben I had walked those since I was small, but I have never grown sick of them, even after almost 22 years of living in Ludington.
-Stearns Park. Our beach is the best. Enough said.
This wasn't so much a part of the tour, but I can't not mention our time of prayer under the maple tree before having to say good-bye tonight. That might in fact be the best part of the day.
Man, I've been blessed with a great home, great friends like Ben, and a GREAT GOD.
