"Life Is a Roller Coaster"
The 4Him song (yeah, kinda vintage) really is right. I'm experiencing it.
The weekend itself was a roller coaster. It had its good times like just the calmness of being at home, with friends, watching ridiculous movies (The Marine was still worth the seven bucks, though), and going to the church I love. But it had its downs too, like scrapping with the family that I wanted to see. Thankfully, it ended on a higher note when I left.
I was very distracted from homework last night and decided to find out what hits I'd get from Googling my name. Here's some of what I found.
-The Chapel Choir roster for our spring 2006 tour was the very first hit... how cool is that?
-Hope Music Department scheduling-I'm an usher for a Wind Symphony concert that got cancelled and a stage manager later in the semester (mental note...)
-Dance Marathon registration-want me as a moraler? Too late, it was back in March.
-This very website-Jay was saying that Dr. Hodson is me in twenty years. Still trying to decipher what that means.
Another Xanga belonging to a high school classmate had my name on it. Apparently one of my teachers from back in high school quoted me at some point, and this frightened the author. Ouch. Another was even harder to read-someone from back at home wrote that I'd just say that they were stupid.
It breaks my heart to read that. What kind of legacy have I left behind in my 21 years on this earth? I want to be a servant of Christ, and instead I'm seen as a person that would quickly call another "stupid?" Have I truly pleased Him at ALL?
St. Francis of Assisi wrote this prayer, and I want it to be mine, too.
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
