Friends (no, NOT the television show...)
Some people say college is completely about studying. It's nothing but classes, studying, exams, and late nights. They couldn't be more wrong. In my experience, I think the friendships made in college are just as important, if not more so. College IS about academics, but so much of it is just experiencing life away from home, and one factor is friends.
This semester hasn't gotten off to the greatest start on the residential end of things, but somehow God is carrying me through it. He's given me two parents who are worrying their little hearts to kingdom come about it, two willing friends named Angela and Becky who are willing to listen to me rant, a concerned and praying RD who wants things to be made right, and an amazing friend in Ben who's been willing to pray over my plight as well. What more could I ask for? Thanks, everyone. Somehow I'm feeling a better.
Totally random note: today Dr. Buettner reminded us in Chapel Choir of the significance of our selection to sing at the Calvin Worship Symposium. Dr. Kennedy-Dygas, head cheese of the most terrifying department on campus (the Music Department, of course), informed him that this symposium is one of the top worship symposia in the country and that to be asked to sing at this one in particular is a real honor. So Dr. Buettner relayed that to everyone and then added on, "Calvin College has choirs... yet HOPE'S top choir gets chosen." We all laffed. And at lunch, I had an exciting discussion with Nik & Vanessa about geekiness and the Geek Test. Nik explained why the answer is 42, we both decided that it's tough to score 100%, and Vanessa got all excited to take the test. Woot.

Well, glad you're feeling better- and... of course the answer is 42. That is the answer to the ultimate question; the Anwer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Oh my goodness... I had to take that test as soon as I saw the link... I got about 23 1/2 %. This makes me a Geek, with almost Total Geek capabilities.
