Stress from school, 0. Major General Music, 1.
Well, after so much stress about the Education Department royally screwing up my application and all that other grief Hope College put me through, I think I'm on an upswing.

1. The meeting with Mr. DeBoer certainly wasn't the easiest thing on my already-shot nerves. I have some problems to correct, mainly in me simply being me when I teach because I'm not doing that now. He said right now that I'm not up to snuff for teaching junior high or senior high school, but I won't be defeated so easily. I refuse to give up a dream and stop following what I feel is a calling from God. Not unless He shuts the door, and I don't think He has.

2. Well, Keyboard Skills has become simpler. I now have to only focus on playing a symphony on the piano (Mozart's Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter"). I thought I'd get killed, but I've been delivered from a certain death at the piano. Chelsea and I are playing it as a piano duo and it'll be sweet!

3. After staying up until 2:00 this morning working on this multimedia presentation and having an extremely difficult field placement, I kicked my presentation's butt into next week! It timed to exactly 15 minutes like it was supposed to, the technology nearly died on me, and I never even ran through it once. Best of all, my classmates seemed to really like it, even if it was similar to Amy's. They were exactly the same, only different, Angela.

4. All this stress still hasn't gotten the best of me. Mr. DeBoer, despite telling me some unpleasant things, said I had my priorities aligned with my devotion to meeting with the Bible Studs. At least I'm not a failure as a person. I've learned there's no way I can get through all this, or anything for that matter, without my Lord Jesus. Diving into the Bible as a group, praying together, and just the fellowship with those guys does wonders when I'm feeling like crap. And sharing some of Mom's baking with them is always fun, too. And despite knowing that I could get work on my presentation and get a little sleep, I decided to stay awhile afterwards. It was time well-spent; Ben showed me an awesome Spring Lake High School talent show video of him with friends playing percussion on trash cans and street signs, he told me some pretty sweet stories from Chile, and it was just a sweet time to hang out.

5. Delta Omicron's alpha chi chapter has gone into pledge mode. It's so interesting being on the other side of the pledging experience.

6. Addendum: Ben put up a post on his LiveJournal of the ice cream adventure I took part in last week before Easter break. Refer to the one entitled "Operation 85512301." It sums it all up well and lets you the readers see my friend's perspective on a major achievement I have experienced. Perhaps I can post on it later.

And you're right. I totally dominated my piano lesson today and I'm well-prepared for my recital tomorrow! Hurray for success!
