Winter Break = Go to school?
Winter Break was a break, sure. I got to sleep late, hug my kittycats, and not worry about stuff. But it wasn't in some respects. Here's the recap.
-Car won't start on Friday. Doesn't even make a sound when turning the ignition. Dad and Jordan end up coming down and give me a jump and the whole day between a dropped cell phone call, charging the battery, and buying food in Muskegon is an adventure, to say the least.
-Show Choir coffeehouse on Saturday. I learned after two and a half years as a music major to bring music with me. I ended up not only enjoying some spiced cider and some good (and not-so-good) music, but I get absorbed into the entertainment as a performer as well.
-Church on Sunday. You know the drill-worship team sings in the morning plus the twist: special music as well. Gaither music in the evening-Boy Howdy! (thanks Mari Jo)
-Monday means I go into the high school, visit the concert choir, and assist the rehearsal. It felt pretty much like a field placement. Credit, perhaps? Then I switch gears and dig around in my car for Science & Tech, and back over to the school later to critique the Show Choir. As Mr. DeBoer & Mr. Oonk have both suggested at times, I gave them a swift kick in the rear to push them to the next level. Even better, I shared that with Ms. Webster, my elementary music teacher! Then more watching of The Office with Jordan over some quality Woodpecker cider. Mmm...
I'm not sure I'm ready for class to resume. But looking at how I spent my time, I'm really starting to wonder. Jason Dobb mentioned at the coffeehouse that Ms. Sopha can't teach at the high school FOREVER, and then he looked at me.
And it made me think. I just can't stay away from the music classrooms or church music. Does that mean I'm supposed to be a music teacher for sure?
