This definitely makes a good "true" first entry. What does the word "notion" mean? According to Dictionary.com , it means...

-A belief or opinion.

-A mental image or representation; an idea or conception.

-A fanciful impulse; a whim. See Synonyms at idea.

-Small lightweight items for household use, such as needles, buttons, and thread.

However, there is conflict over this definition. According to Becky Young, it means...

-"Language and Power" professor from Grand Valley obsessed with buzzwords "notion" and "genre."

-Forbidden topic of conversation on equal footing with genres in terms of outright evil-ness. Known to cause spontaneous combustion of the human brain.

-POOP! And it is delightful!

You make a ruling, folks. Is it really just an idea or belief? Is it this scary professor? Is it a deadly conversation topic? Or is it really just a bunch of crap?

Well, he is not scary looking.... but "notion" is a poisonous word that is penetrating my life. I dream about it, I think about it, I find it in my alphabet soup! I have even caught myself saying it! AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
