Inspiration from Amy!Amy put up an away message with things she is thankful for. Here's what I'm thankful for.
-Good friends. Ben, Brandon, Nate, Paul, and I have a ritual on Thursdays of eating lunch or dinner together, sharing what God is up to in our lives, and praying for one another. Pete and I had an awesome talk online tonight about our walks with God. I think he's one of my favorite people to talk to. And Amy! She read over my Collection of Experiences for me when I was unable to contact Becky in a flash. I have two great editing friends. And a very-late night conversation with Ben is good too. He's one of few people I can count on for encouragement on a consistent basis.
-Dr. Buettner. I have never felt more relaxed in voice lessons than this semester studying under his tutelage. I still can't figure out why my lessons with Dr. Richmond put me on edge. He's a good teacher, usually my lessons with him are good, and he cracks me up. It MUST be that eyepatch...
-Playing outside! The weather was beautiful today, so I put on some shorts and a comfy t-shirt (Chapel Choir tour shirt!) today. For D.O. rush event no. 2, we played outside in the grass and in our bare feet. It was solid.
-Pizza! My schedule has been cruel to me and makes me eat at the Kletz too much. I thought I'd have to eat there again until I realized how little time I had to finish my paper for Exceptional Child. I thought I was out of luck until Adam across the hall comes to the rescue with the most brilliant idea a college student can have at 11 P.M.: pizza with the neighbors for $3 and a short time to hang out which didn't involve homework. Score!
Thanks, God. I feel blessed tonight, thanks to You.
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my High Tower:
Raise Thou me Heavenward, O Power of my power.
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
