Yesterday = pretty much totally sweet
So yesterday could have been a total bombshell and it wasn't. I'm very much grateful for that.
1. Presentation in Encounter with Cultures went like clockwork. Despite never running it together, our group had the presentation divided well, we went first and thus had the class's fresh attention spans, and the professor appreciated it. I'm still unsure what she really means when she said, "I like how you think." I'll take it as a compliment, though.
2. Piano lesson/studio class could have been a disaster. But Prof. Le said I'm making progress on the "Rondo alla Turca" (that's Mozart's "Turkish March," K. 331 if you care), so that keeps me excited and willing to practice! He had me "do something daring" to create the sound of Turkish castanets which amused everyone in studio class. Yup, I stuck paper in the piano and then played it. The others thought I was playing something by George Crumb until I announced my piece (after loading the paper). It was well-received.
3. I'm planning a Bible Study-yikes! Yup, Ben's passing the reins around to help us determine the future of the Bible Studs. I would like to see the group stay together, so if that means I have to lead every week, so be it. It's tougher than I'd ever imagine, though; Hebrews 11 is a very focused chapter (all about faith), so I'm praying I don't take an approach that's too scattershot.
4. Hanging out with good friends, maybe too many of them. I chilled in the Kletz with Brandon for awhile, including part of the time I was planning the Bible Study. Then he wandered off to listen to the performers in the stage area while I kept working. Then someone surprised me: Barry was here last night! I don't remember the last time I've seen him, but he just appeared from nowhere, sat down across from me and asked what I was doing. I only wish I would have had more time to talk to him, but Ben called my attention to a table full of Nertz and asked if I was in. I was, and I got my butt kicked into next week. Oh well, it was still great fun because let's face it, when ISN'T Nertz fun?
5. I'm all registered for classes! Here's next semester's lineup:
-Form & Analysis
-Music Literature Before 1750
-Conducting Techniques
-Instruments of the Band and Orchestra
-Secondary Choral Methods
-Voice Lessons
-Chapel Choir
-Collegium Musicum
-Introduction to Biblical Literature
Down one to 19 credits! Yay...

I agree about the "fresh attention spans" (nice coinage) thing... always good to either volunteer to go first or after someone who did poorly.
Why not take turns leading Bible study? The you don't have to do it each week.
19 credits? That's it? You slacker! (sarcasm, of course)
