I'm ready for homeI think I know another reason why I'm ready to move out of Cook. It's pretty fancy as dorms go, but I've had enough.
I don't think I spent as much time in the dorm last semester during exams, particularly late at night. I was often at Nykerk practicing or studying. And when I was in the dorm late at night, I was probably asleep, considering I had 8:00 exams three mornings out of four. But I observed something when I went to retrieve a paper from the lab printer.
Cook Hall is like a TOMB late at night during exams. I literally heard no one and saw one person who said nothing.
I'm ready for home, where the cats stay up as late as I do and keep me company until bedtime.
Sidenote: the Chapel Band finished the time of singing at The Gathering with "In the Light." I think they just knew that dc Talk would make the students go crazy with excitement, not to mention that the song fits how a lot of us probably feel.
