Announcing the arrival of... Lord VanDutchyname! Half a cheer, please!(Hip..., HUZ...!)
The Major General Music once again took part in the Madrigals Feasts at Hope College, held by the Collegium Musicum. Guests, while paying through the nose to attend, had a delightful evening of joy filled with a wassail toast before the feast, a boar's head processional, a 13th Century Italian blessing for the food, a fine dinner of mutton and pork with red & gold potatoes, brown and wild rice, peas with mushrooms, and figgy pudding with hard sauce and blazing brandy (yes Hope College, we lit alcohol on fire because kerosene was ruled to be too incendiary). The entertainment included two roving quartets happily singing Christmas carols, the King randomly ordering tables to sing him songs, dinner theatre with a lesson at the end, and of course, the fine music offered by the Collegium Musicum. Here are some of the photos from the occasion. More may come later. The Royal Crier (the Major General Music) poses with the family he graciously serves, the House of Coyle, with Queen Debbie, Prince Mackenzie, Princess Molly, & King Brian.
The Royal Crier doubles as the Royal Mage, making two boars' heads appear.
The Royal Crier takes a moment for a portrait, foppish and 16th Century style, of course.

Maybe I'll get a costume sometime too. Then we could dress up and go to renaissance fairs.
