My Rain Shield is TOUGH!

The tales my umbrella could relate would be interesting.

My umbrella: So this one time, Tyler and his friend Ben went to Jeannette's recital and didn't check the weather forecast. They forgot me and paid the price with the soaking of their lives.

This Blog: Sounds like poetic justice.

My umbrella: I thought so. But THEN they had the audacity to take a silly picture with me in the room. I told Tyler that he'd pay for that.

This Blog: Has he?

My umbrella: Not yet. But just wait-one day I'll refuse to open when it's wet outside!

This Blog: Any other stories worth telling?

My umbrella: Well, yesterday he remembered me when he went to the Chapel Choir recording session. Then his teacher kidnapped me for a short time while Tyler didn't even know what was going on. Luckily I was reunited with Tyler. He even brought me with him later that night to rehearsal even though it wasn't raining. I felt loved.

This Blog: How nice.

My umbrella: The story doesn't end there! He forgot me! I was left all alone, by myself in the dark chapel while he went to go spend time with his friends. And none of his friends noticed me or took me with them to keep me safe. It's a scary world out there for umbrellas, you know.

This Blog: Wow, that's rough.

My umbrella: I know! Apparently he had a very nice time with his friends. Meanwhile, I cried in the chapel. All night. I was very sad that I was forgotten. And then these strange people came into the chapel the next morning and started setting up all this weird stuff. They kept talking about television and they made a lot of noise. I laid there where I was placed last night, terrified that I would be injured.

This Blog: Were you?

My umbrella: No! Somehow Tyler remembered me, snuck into the chapel while they were setting up their gear, knew where to find me, and safely returned me to his room. But first he waved me around like a conducting baton. I wasn't quite sure if I should feel embarrassed, angered, or honored. He loves conducting, you know, but I'm no baton.

This Blog: So do you fear you've been reduced to a conducting baton now?

My umbrella: Not really. Tyler said I was too heavy and unwieldy to conduct with and said I make a better rain shield. I'm cool with that.
